This past weekend we saw Michael Firicano perform on the third episode of the 2009 Community Auditions Finals.

The man can move. He brought his own mic stand to the performance and if you saw him on stage, then you know as well as I do that he knows how to rock! You may not have loved the big rock bands of the ’80s, but that kind of epic stage presensce is what you get from Michael everytime.

Carolyn West performed one of the best versions of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” I have ever heard during the 2009 season of Community Auditions: Star of the Day.

We are back this week with the results of our second Final! Three more talented performers took the stage for a shot at the Grand Championship, and to be this years’ Star!

The judges have spoken.

The Winner of Final #2 is…

Liv Gaines!

Liv won the last four Stars of the 2009 season, catapulting herself into the Finals!

Known for her barefoot performances and powerful voice, Liv has a passion for music to match any competitor. This Enfield, Connecticut product rocked the house with covers of  songs by Bonnie Raitt, Dusty Springfield, and Etta James.

Our first competitor, Daniel Taylor, also won four Stars this season, effortlessly gliding from country to pop to rock. A skilled guitar player with a powerful folk rock voice, Daniel owned the stage every time he performed, cruising into the Finals.

Megan Harney’s first submission for Community Auditions: Star of the Day, was an amazingly rocking cover of 1980′s lady-rock band, Heart, which she performed on the stage here at the Finals. During the 2009 season, Megan switched to a cover of “My Heart Will Go On”, showcasing the amazingly beautiful voice which landed her on stage at the MGM Grand.

Half of our final four is lined up and ready. Liv Gaines joins Branden “Jus B” Wilson in the Grand Championship and the talent so far, has been top-notch.

Community Auditions: Star of the Day has reached the Finals!

Our first batch of contestants has given it their very best, and the judges have spoken!

The Winner of Final #1 is…

Branden “Jus B” Wilson!

Jus B won the very last Star of the Day in 2008, and then proceeded to win the very first three Stars in 2009.

Flash forward to the Finals and Brandon has won five consecutive performances on Community Auditions! With a soft, soulful voice, this young man (only 14!) has set a very high bar for himself and for the remaining Finalists.

We would be remiss if we failed to mention the amazingly talented performers who competed with Jus B.

Beautiful and brilliant, Tara Canaday won two Stars during the 2009 season. With an upbeat performance style, she rocked out to the Beatles “Come Together” and offered up sincere vulnerability on Sara Bareilles “Gravity”.

Taking their name from a Third Eye Blind song, the four young men of Red Summer Sun; Nick, Pete, Andrew, and Adam, reflect the passion and energy of the band that gave them their name. Performing all original material during the three episodes they appeared on, the boys took home two Stars and rode a wave of fan votes to the Finals.

We’re only one show in and the performances have been incredible! As always we wish the best to all of our performers and suggest that you keep an eye out for them!
